Anstice Hall

The Anstice Institute and Workman’s Club was built in 1866 as a memorial to John Anstice a mine owner and ironmaster. Once a thriving venue, in recent years, membership had declined and the club called ‘time gentlemen, please’ in 2014. A year on, thanks to a grant of £100,000 from the Community Pride Fund, plans are being made to open the doors once again.
