Great projects are happening across the borough thanks to our £1.26 million Community Pride Fund, which opened for bids in June 2014.
The successful bids have been making a real difference to our local communities. You can read about how many of them are doing in this Blog, including work on England’s last remaining coracle shed in Ironbridge, Wombridge Primary School’s new botanical greenhouse, a low cost fruit and veg shop in Dawley and an extension to Edgmond Village Hall.
We will continue to post updates on the various Community Pride Fund projects as they progress, but will also now be adding news about another £1 million fund that we set up last year to revitalise nine of our High Streets.
The Pride in Your High Street Fund sparked a great deal of interest when it was launched in May 2015, and in January this year we announced that all nine of the eligible High Streets will benefit from the pot of money, with £830,000 earmarked for individual projects.
I am delighted that all nine areas are set to benefit from this fund. We will follow the progress of the various projects in this Blog.
